Técnicamente hablando, para una determinada versión de iOS (digamos iOS 10.3.2), cada dispositivo móvil de Apple tiene una compilación ligeramente diferente de iOS que es específica para su arquitectura de hardware.

At the time of writing, iOS 11 is still in beta and the difference, in terms of UI and functionalities is going to increase over time between the iPhone and the iPad versions.
